One scholarship will be awarded for the upcoming semester in the amount of $1000. Preference will be given to those who demonstrate: the impact(s) their service has on others’ lives; a continued commitment to service in their community; exemplary leadership for others to follow. Career aspirations and financial impact will also be considered.

Description and Eligibility Requirements

Fall 2024 Application

SELECTION PROCESS AND AWARD :

The Meg Brady Helping Hands Scholarship Committee, a subset of LSPAA, will be designated to review applicants anonymously and select the scholarship recipient(s). All scholarship entries will be kept confidential. Every attempt will be made to keep the names of the applicants known only to the person sorting the applications. Applicants will be judged solely on their credentials.

Committee members will make independent recommendations regarding scholarship funds without potential or perceived influence caused by a conflict of interest and are required to sign a conflict of interest policy prior to serving on the selection committee. The eligibility of applicants will be evaluated by the committee members without bias and selection recommendations will be made based on the established objective criteria for each scholarship award. The committee shall evaluate all submitted applications on a standard rubric and present the rubric, recommended candidate, and candidate score to all voting members of LSPAA for a majority vote of approval. The standard rubric shall be approved by a majority vote of the Board of Directors prior to the application deadline.

Scholarship recipients will be notified of their selection via email no later than June 1, 2024. Awards will be made payable to the student and issued. Funds may be used only for educational costs. Except for the requirements outlined here, no obligations will be imposed upon the student as a scholarship award winner. Other than payment of the scholarship, no obligations or liability is assumed by the Lambda Sigma Pi Alumnae Association.
